Hands of Mercy & BOB's (Bags of Blessings)

During the 2016-17 school year, 5,549 bags were packed and 185 children were fed. 1 in 4 Lincoln County children are “food insecure.” Each week, throughout the school year, volunteers come to FBC to pack and distribute BOB’s for each of the county and city elementary and middle schools. It cost $160 per child to provide these food items for one school year. Most of the items are purchased, with your monetary donations, through Second Harvest Food Bank but Jello pudding, Jello gelatin, and snack crackers are proved by donations from people like you. God has provided through His people - THANK YOU FBC.

Mobile Food Pantry on July 22 at the Fairgrounds

Food will be distributed to 250 families plus, in order to get kids ready for back-to-school, they will also offer free shoes for children, back packs filled will school supplies, and free haircuts for kids. This is always their biggest day of the year and many volunteers will be needed at 9:00 a.m. to get ready for distribution at 10:00.

Donations for BOB’s or the Mobile Food Pantry can be made at the church office.

ESL Classes (English as a Second Language)

Each Tuesday evening volunteer teachers and students meet at 6:00 at FBC for a light meal, Bible study and English classes. Currently there are 9 students enrolled in beginner, intermediate, and advanced classes. This is the 5th year FBC has offered these classes and it has been a great ministry that has brought new families to our church and more importantly, new Christians. If you know of a Spanish speaking person, 18 years or older, who would benefit from this class or if you would like to help by providing a meal or by becoming a teacher’s assistant or a substitute teacher, contact Amy Leimer at 931-252-1211. You do not have to know Spanish to help.
