Change is happening all around us. We see change in our world….in our culture…in our community…in our families…in each of our lives. We change from a baby into child; child into adult.

Change is a part of everyday life in almost every way possible. Some would say, they do not like change. However, the way I see it is we should all run to change! We should embrace change! For, change should be our daily goal to become more like the image of God’s glory. Hear God’s words with ears to hear from Him in 2 Corinthians 3:18, But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.”

The word “transformed” is from the Greek word “metanoia” meaning “to change one’s mind to the point of action.” Metamorphosis describes the process whereby the butterfly is changed from a caterpillar through an intentional process.

As Christians, we must have an intentional process in our change too. We must “repent & believe.” We know these words; however, many times we do not have a practical plan into going through this process.

We observe, by looking into mirror of the Glory of the Lord. We reflect, by realizing how a thought, word, action, or belief does NOT match the glory of the Lord. We discuss, with wise counsel from another helpful and trusted Christian. Therefore, we have intentional action steps to understanding how we need to repent, or “changing our mind with actions” within each day.

The second action is to “Believe.” In believing, we do not simply gain a new fact, but our belief drives our actions. Therefore, as repentant Christians, understanding just how we did not reflect the Glory of the Lord. We Plan out how we will act, think, talk, or believe differently that better matches God’s character and image. We account our plan to one or more close Christians to hold you accountable. We act out of our repentant new heart with a belief, or action, to better embody the image we see in the unveiled image of our perfect Father.

Repent and Believe! Yes, we are God’s ever-changing children, morphing into a clearer image of Jesus Christ each day….if We Repent & Believe!
